RACING SOUTH AFRICA’s SPONSORED DAY
Newmarket Racecourse, UK - Saturday 18 September 2010

Visitors have long admired South Africa as one of the most beautiful places on earth. The southern tip of Africa offers some of the finest vistas on the planet, stretching from neat estates in the winelands of the Cape, to the great space and tranquility of the Karoo, and on to the verdant pastures east of the picturesque Drakensberg mountain range.
In these trying financial times, the affordability of South African horseracing is more pronounced than ever before. To repeat one of Racing South Africa’s earliest catch-phrases: “First world quality, third world prices!”
And, following South Africa’s great run of success on the international stage with the exploits of Jay Peg (R130k), Sun Classique (R100k), National Colour (R160k), Rippling Ring (R120k), Tiza (R60k), Captain’s Lover (R160k), JJ The Jet Plane (R70k) and, homebreds, Imbongi and Lizard’s Desire, this is more of a statement of fact than a forecast!
With training fees averaging less than GBP420 per month, South Africa offers both local and international racing enthusiasts one of the lowest entry levels into the world of horseracing. With its world class standards of horsemanship and excellent racing infrastructure there are real incentives to purchase and race horses in South Africa as a nursery for later export.
After successful promotions of the South African horseracing industry since 2006, Racing South Africa has again secured a sponsorship package at Newmarket’s Rowley Mile Racecourse on Saturday, 18 September 2010:
Sponsorship of six televised races on the card including the main feature of the day, the INVESTEC Cesarewitch Trial, broadcast by CH4 Racing. The 7-race programme is as follows:
